Hennessy Trophy Awards

The Department of the Air Force and the National Restaurant Association, Society for Foodservice Management and International Food Service Executives Association established the Hennessy Trophy Program in 1956. The award is designed to improve food service operations and recognize the best dinning halls in the Air Force.

2000 Awardees

Awards for 2000 were made at NRA's annual meeting and exposition in Chicago on May 20, 2000.

The 2000 Hennesey Award recipients are:

Multiple Dining Facility Winner: 51st Services Squadron, Osan Air Base, Korea.

Single Dining Facility Winner: 3rd Services Squadron, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Anchorage, Alaska.

Air Force Reserve Special Award Winner: 919th Special Operations Wing, Duke Field, Fla.

Air National Guard Special Award Winner: 152nd Airlift Wing, Reno, Nev.

Competitors for the multiple category award were Kelly AFB, Tex.; Peterson AFB, Colo.; Fairchild AFB, Wash.; Whiteman AFB, Mo.; Keesler AFB, Miss.; Ramstein AB, Germany and Osan AB, Korea.

Bases that competed in the single category award were Langley AFB, Va.; RAF Lakenheath, England; Patrick AFB, Fla.; Grand Forks AFB, N.D.; Altus AFB, Okla.; Kirtland AFB, N.M. and Elmendorf AFB, Alaska.
