New Seabee Ratings

Here’s the new Seabee ratings that went into effect on April 2, 1948. The new ratings were part of Occupational Group VIII (Construction). The next restructuring came on February 2, 1959 when CM became construction mechanic, CD became equipment operator (EO) and the emergency service ratings were realigned. Surveyor did not change to engineering aid (EA) until about 1960. Draftsman (DM) was a Group VI (Miscellaneous) rating.
